Clean CARFAX report. Excellent condition all around. Perhaps the best looking, best handling and best sounding Mondial t around. Here’s my history with this great car. I bought the car in April 2005 here on eBay, with a bit over 36,000 miles on it. I had a 1986 Mondial 3.2 cabriolet, and I saw this 1993 Mondial t at a fair price, knowing that it needed the major belt service to be done. The Mondial t series is significantly improved over the 3.2 series in many areas – engine, suspension, brakes, steering, etc. I spoke to the owner in Florida and the service manger at the Ferrari dealership he said it had been to recently. I bought the car based on the photos and discussions and had it trucked up to me. It was in the very good condition they described it to be. Shortly after I got it I took it to Ferrari of Washington and had the major belt service done, the clutch replaced, new tensioner bearing, F355 wheels installed, alignment, the catalytic converters and the muffler replaced with high performance ones, and other miscellaneous minor items serviced. The cost of all this was over $13,000, excluding the cost of the new wheels and tires, about another $3,000. Over the next 2 1/2 years I had motor mounts replaced, A/C serviced, oil changed, brake fluid flushed, etc. I also had a new convertible top installed and the front seat leathers replaced, costing about $5,000. I spent this money and did these upgrades and services as it’s a really stunning, great driving car. By late 2007 the kids had grown up quite a bit and weren’t interested in riding with my wife and me any more. In October 2007 I saw a beautiful, specially-optioned F355 Ferrari of Washington had for sale. I was able to make a really good deal on it mostly because I’d been taking both Mondials and my 308 there since the mid 90’s. I’d gotten to know the owner, general manager and lead salesman pretty well, and they wanted to move the F355. I put the Mondial t for sale on consignment there, as I had done with the 1986 Mondial 3.2. Before they’ll accept a car on consignment they inspect it again and insist all service items be taken care of. So it got new front brakes, a new fuse box, steering bellows boot, and thermostat-another $4,400. In early 2008 we discussed doing the 2 year/10,000 mile service, including replacing the belts, as it was getting close to three years since they were done, even I’d only driven it less than 3,000 miles since I got. That service was $2,600. They did a terrible job of marketing the car, and after a year there and new owners about to take over I got the car back. And of course the economy and market tumbled. As you can see from the upgrades and services I’ve listed I’m going to lose a lot of money. I believe this car is the nicest Mondial t around. It is not a concours show car. It is a beautiful, well serviced car. The change to the 18″ F355 wheels from the plain 16″ Mondial wheels, including the fact that the rear wheels are 10″ wide compared to the originals being 8″ wide, really changes the stance and look of the car. It really looks like a true Ferrari. And the sound is much improved too. Pictures don’t convey all of this.
